Hammond was awarded a Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome, as well as the Rockefeller Foundation’s Jane Jacobs Medal for New Ideas and Activism.

James Tillman ∣ Singer-Songwriter
James Tillman is a singer-songwriter and producer from Washington, DC. With influences ranging from Nick Drake and Marvin Gaye to Stereolab and Azymuth, James' sound carries the spirit of soul, alternative and psychedelic music. On April 29, 2014 James independently released his debut EP, Shangri La. Recorded in Sao Paulo Brazil, the EP boasted a classic soul sound and received favorable nods from blogs, critics and industry tastemakers, and James expanded his fanbase touring as an opening act for indie bands Tune-Yards and Wild Child. James is currently finishing up his first album.
